Allen E. Gant, Jr. is chairman of Glen Raven, the family-owned company founded by his grandfather in 1880. He joined Glen Raven in 1971, served as CEO from 1996 to 2017 and continues as chairman of the board. A global business and textile industry leader, Gant attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was honored with a degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from Elon University. His board service includes Elon University, the UNC School of Business Board of Visitors, Alamance County Economic Development Foundation, Impact Alamance Foundation, Piedmont Triad Partnership, Coral Bay Club and Alamance Regional Medical Center/Cone Health. He also founded the New Leaf Society, NC Marine Estuary and Foundation, and NC Sound Economy.
