Synergy of Thoughts: Bringing Together Multiple Voices in Professional Learning
As educators we strive to do what is best for our students each and every day. We evaluate ourselves, reflect on practice, and tweak or even revolutionize our instruction in a cycle of continuous improvement. We re-live moments in our classroom, pondering different ways we might have approached a lesson or reciting an anecdote where we wish we would have said something else.
Even when a lesson is a hit, we are compelled to make it better, with If only I would have thought to ask or I loved the way I explained playing over and over again in our heads. I’ve always thought it was just part of being a teacher, an internal process of improvement that I needed to figure out for myself.
