If you want to have a deep understanding of a city, you’d better to know its history first. In Dr. Beal’s class, we got a precious chance to have our great Raleigh trolley adventure on October 25, which gave us a vivid and overall view of Raleigh’s history.

Mordecai House

Mordecai is the last name of the people who lived in the Mordecai House for many years. In 1817, Moses Mordecai got married with Peggy Lane and moved into the house. From then on, people in Raleigh started calling the house the Mordecai House. The Mordecai House now becomes a historic site because it is the oldest home in Raleigh on its original location, where you can learn about the life of the past.

William Peace University

It is one of the oldest institutions of higher education for women in United States. It’s a gift from Jim Hunt at the end of his second administration.

Acorn-City of Oaks

Raleigh is also called city of oaks. We got the chance to see many historic sites of Raleigh, but I can’t list all of them here. My dear readers, I hope you all have the chance to enjoy the great Raleigh Trolley Adventure!
