Joe Melendez

Bio
Joe A. Meléndez is an experienced education leader, instructional designer and program manager with a strong background in STEM and computer science education. As a research scholar at North Carolina State University, he oversees the development of AI-driven learning tools to improve educational outcomes. Previously, he led CSforALL’s SCRIPT program, supporting school districts in creating and implementing K-12 computer science plans. With expertise in professional development, curriculum design and program evaluation, he collaborates with educators, schools and industry partners to develop effective and scalable learning solutions. Joe has also held leadership roles at Cornell Tech, where he designed coaching and professional development resources for K-12 computer science educators, and at the NYC Department of Education, where he managed the borough-wide implementation of the CS4All initiative in Manhattan. Additionally, he served as a program manager at the New York Academy of Sciences, developing global STEM initiatives that connected students with scientists and mentors. Throughout his career, Joe has focused on advancing high-quality educational programs that equip teachers and students with essential skills for the future.
