Senator Kevin Corbin served five terms on the Macon County School Board, followed by two terms as a County Commissioner. He was elected to the NC House for two terms in 2016, followed by election to the NC Senate in 2020. He was re-elected to the Senate in 2022 and 2024, representing District 50 (Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Jackson,  Macon, Swain, Transylvania counties). He currently serves as Chair of Education Policy for the Senate as well as Chair of Education Appropriations.
