Representative Cynthia Ball represents District 49 (Wake County) in the NC House of Representatives. She was first elected to the NC House in 2016, has served in Democratic leadership positions in each of her five terms, including Freshman Chair, Whip, Campaign Co-Chair, Conference Chair and currently as Deputy Leader. A Franklin County native, she earned a B.A. in psychology at UNC-Greensboro (Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude) on a Katherine Smith Reynolds Scholarship. She holds an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed doctoral coursework (ABD) at North Carolina State University in Human Resources and Organization Development. She is a professional mediator certified by the NC Dispute Resolution Commission. She has served on the boards of directors and the advisory boards of the Kiwanis Club of Raleigh, WomenNC, NC Voter Project and Preservation Raleigh.
