Dr. Connie Ledoux Book spent 16 years as an Elon University faculty member and administrative leader. She served as the first female provost and chief academic officer at The Citadel before returning to Elon in 2018 to serve as Elon’s ninth president. She is past chair of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) and represents NAICU on the American Council on Education (ACE) board. She also serves on the boards of the NCN Independent College and Universities, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), Project Pericles, the Union Square Campus, The Washington Center, NC Campus Engagement and on the executive committee of the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA), Elon’s athletic conference.
