STEM Career Clubs
This interdisciplinary study focuses on developing ways to promote and measure interest in and preparation for STEM majors and careers. High-risk middle and high school students, their teachers and administrators in rural North Carolina are the primary population the project team is studying, both in and out of school. The project focuses on informal mentoring relationships, the use of district-wide strategic teams, the role of teacher pedagogical discontentment, teacher changes to reform-based instructional strategies, and ways to support the integration of instructional technologies.
