NC Educational Technology Conference


December 10, 2008 – The North Carolina Educational Technology Conference was held in Greensboro, NC during the first week in December 2008. The conference focuses on helping to shape the future of education by bringing together emerging and existing technologies with the best practices in education.

The conference featured many researchers and staff of the Friday Institute including presentations on the 1:1 Learning Collaborative, the FIZZ video sharing project, Cinema Veriteen and how simulations can help teach science.

There were also several presentations with results from evaluations currently being done at the Friday Institute. The results from the first year evaluation of the 1:1 Learning Initiative Pilot were presented, along with an evaluation of North Carolina Virtual Public Schools and the IMPACT model evaluation.
