Erin Manuel
Bio
Dr. Erin Walterina Manuel has joined the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation as a Research Associate for the PEER Evaluation Team. She is a passionate educator with 25 years of experience in community action programming, K-12 public education, curriculum and instruction, school/ district leadership, qualitative research and research practice partnerships. Most recently, Dr. Manuel was at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as a research analyst with the Office of Learning Recovery and Acceleration. During her time at NCDPI, she led the ESSER II qualitative UNC System research partnerships and was instrumental in facilitating the research practice partnerships for the North Carolina Research and Recovery Network (NCRRN) and the North Carolina Practitioner Network (NCPN) with the UNC-CH Collaboratory.
Dr. Manuel completed her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development from North Carolina State University in May 2020. She also earned her undergraduate degree in Art and Art History and a minor in Education from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. Furthermore, she has a Masters in Arts and Teaching (M.A.T.) with a concentration in Arts Education from the University of South Carolina and Masters of School Administration (M.S.A.) from Fayetteville State University through the NC Principal Fellows Program (cohort XIII). Dr. Manuel is an active member of various leadership and research professional organizations such as the American Evaluation Association (AEA), North Carolina Principals and Assistant Principals Association (NCPAPA) and the North Carolina Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (NCASCD). She currently serves on the board for the North Carolina Association of Research and Evaluation (NCARE).
