Mary Elizabeth Piecham
Bio
Mary Beth Piecham is a temporary research program manager at the Friday Institute. She is an education researcher and project director specializing in implementation research and translating research findings into actionable programs and resources for educators and policymakers. Her work has spanned federally funded research projects examining mathematics curriculum implementation and instructional practices, equity in computer science education, and technology-enhanced learning experiences. Earlier in her career, she led strategic communications and national press outreach for a PBS global health multimedia project and children’s programming.
Piecham holds an M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a B.A. in communication from NC State University with a concentration in public relations. Her research has been published in research journals and briefs, and she has presented at national conferences including AERA and NCTM. She is passionate about integrating research, practice and policy to expand access to high-quality learning for all students.
