Bio

Oscar Miranda Tapia is a Graduate Research Assistant at the William and Ida Friday Institute for Educational Innovation and a Research Associate at the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research. He is also a PhD student and Provost Fellow at NC State University pursuing his degree in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development concentrating on higher education opportunity, equity, and justice. Before pursuing his degree, Oscar created and led the first-generation initiative at Elon University. Oscar is a co-author of Connections are Everything: A College Student’s Guide to Relationship-Rich Education and holds degrees from Elon University and Harvard University.
