Principal & Coach Focus: Supporting Teachers in Implementing Remote Learning

The importance of principals and coaches providing support for their educators and students is more important than ever in the challenging transition to remote learning. In this session we will focus on strategies for supporting instruction, social and emotional learning (SEL), and strong communication with the school community. Additional recommendations for coaching and leading from afar are shared.

Reflect

We invite educators to continue to learn and grow with these resources. Discover and collect new ideas and examples relevant to you after viewing the session video and related resources. Take notes and reflect while you view so you can customize the techniques for your own remote learning and classroom needs and adapt the strategies for your students. Let these guiding questions support your reflective practice after viewing the session and/or reviewing of session materials:

  1. In which ways are you fostering connections with stakeholders? What is working and where are their gaps that can be improved?
  2. Which design supports and expectations have been incorporated into your messaging for teachers? What professional development has been designed to enhance and support your vision of remote learning curriculum and instruction?
  3. Reflect on the information shared concerning Social and Emotional Learning. What steps have been put in place for all stakeholders to promote SEL? In which ways can you go further to support SEL?
