AI with the FI: From Insight to Innovation in Higher Education
Join the William & Ida Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, with support from the NC State College of Education, Office of Instructional Programs and NC State Data Science Academy, for an insightful webinar series exploring the evolving role of AI in driving innovation and transformation across higher education.
The webinar series “AI with the FI: From Insight to Innovation in Higher Ed” will take participants through the stages of adoption of AI, from developing awareness and interest to becoming advocates for Generative AI. Each webinar will support the development of educators’ AI literacy to effectively equip learners for an AI-driven future. These 45-minute sessions will provide guidance around understanding, evaluating and using AI–including best practices with AI tools, relevant examples, quality resources and direction for next steps.

Stepping into AI: Unlocking the Power of Artificial Intelligence – November 8, 2024; 1:00 PM EST
“Stepping into AI: Unlocking the Power of Artificial Intelligence” fosters educators’ awareness and interest in Generative AI. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of AI tailored specifically to higher education faculty and staff. By the end of the session, participants will be better equipped to set both personal and professional goals for delving deeper into the world of AI. No prior experience with AI tools is necessary to participate.

Navigating the Maze: Evaluating AI for Everyday Applications – December 6, 2024; 1:00 PM (EST)
“Navigating the Maze: Evaluating AI for Everyday Applications” guides participants in exploring the potential of AI in their work and as a (digital) leader. By delving into AI ethics and AI tools, participants will test and evaluate the value of AI, its efficiency and purpose. No prior experience with AI tools is necessary to participate.

Embracing the Now: Leveraging AI for Learning Impact – January 10, 2025; 1:00 PM (EST)
“Embracing the Now: Leveraging AI for Learning Impact” empowers educators to harness AI’s power for student-focused instruction and ethical, responsible use. Participants will consider data privacy concerns and learner needs as they strive to adopt suitable and flexible AI tools in their practice. No prior experience with AI tools is necessary to participate.

Leading the Way: Championing AI – February 7, 2025; 1:00 PM (EST)
“Leading the Way: Championing AI” provides a platform for participants to share their experiences and expertise in AI. By learning from peers and diving into collective knowledge, participants will become equipped to advocate for AI’s transformative role in education, positioning themselves as digital leaders in the field. No prior experience with AI tools is necessary to participate.

AI Learning Lab
The Friday Institute would like to invite you to showcase how you are using artificial intelligence (AI) in the classroom with your learners as part of the AI with the Friday Institute: From Insight to Innovation in Higher Education webinar series.
The AI with the Friday Institute’s AI Learning Lab aims to create a network of educators utilizing these emerging technologies and willing to provide their expertise, experiences and/or artifacts for the benefit of their education peers and evidence of their digital leadership. Based on your submission, the Friday Institute may include your work as model exemplars and/or share your work at the regional, state or national levels.
